How did you find the pre departure booklet given to you and the service of the staff in regards to answering your questions and helping you prepare? It was excellent and I carried a copy with me on my trip and would refer to it. Did you enjoy working at your project / placement? I was sad to leave on my last day. I grew fond of many of the children. I wished there had been a few more supplies to use. Accommodation and meals Wow ! Wonderful meals and accommodations. Very grateful for the air-conditioning. Coordinators and Staff All the staff were helpful courteous and easy to talk to. Thank you for all your support and guidance. It made this trip of a lifetime for me. What was the highlight of your volunteering experience and your trip? I enjoyed my experience at the center. It has opened my eyes to what real poverty looks like. The children were such a gift. They taught me so much about resilience and what you can do with a few things. The children were joyful and such a pleasure to be around. Would you recommend this program and our organization to others? yes/no YES ! I would like to go to Thailand next summer but only wish that the staff from New Delhi are there too ! Any comments and suggestions I loved all the weekend trips to Taj Mahal as well as Jaipur. Thank you for bringing us on the weekend trips. I liked the photos on the website and it was really easy to navigate through. The pre-departure booklet was very informative and helpful. Staff always replied to my queries instantly. I really enjoyed the work at my placement. Both children and supervisor are welcoming and it was a great experience. We also celebrated Independence day with children and I really liked it. Jaipur trip was really very nice. The accommodation and meals were both very nice and our coordinators were responsible and friendly. So I would surely recommend this program to my friends.

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the program. We had the opportunity to work with street children and also do sight seeing. It was very rewarding teaching and playing with the children whom don't have much but have the biggest hearts. Volunteer Solutions took care of us and answered all our inquiries. They organised tours and made sure we had an enjoyable time. I enjoyed spending time with the children. They were very lovely and gave you all their attention. It was nice teaching them English Maths and General Knowledge and even though they didn't know English that well they listened and learned. Spending time with the children teaching them something new and playing games with them were the highlihgts of my trip. Simply just interacting with them and creating memories with them. I enjoyed learning Hindi with them and teaching them clapping games. I also really enjoyed going to landmarks such as the Taj Mahal and The Lake City Udaipur as I learnt about the history and appreciated the architecture. I really admire the Indian culture and hope more people take the opportunity to experience it as well.

Volunteering is a very rewarding option at any time in our lives. Undoubtedly a great experience of life personal and professional growth and enrichment. Far away he would experience such an experience again. My experience in the project was very gratifying since the staff of the hospital in New Delhi was very welcoming to me it was worth it completely very necessary to have a global vision of a country that does not have midwives as professionals for the integral care of the women couples or relatives throughout their life cycle however I would have loved to know the reality of public hospitals since I was in private hospital of Moolchand. Cultural religious interpersonal and professional exchange Personal growth Create opportunity to practice and develop social skills.

Excellent experience overall! Was able to learn much about the culture and way of life through volunteering at the preschool in Delhi and a tour of the city's historical highlights. Country co-ordinators were extremely welcoming and friendly and went out of their way to make me feel at home. Team co-ordinators were superb and always went the extra mile to make us feel at home cooking local food and showing us around Delhi. The project was excellent and a very worthwhile experience. Working with the children although tiring as they were always full of energy was extremely rewarding. Working with a bunch of very lively children who were eager to learn and always full of energy was the main highlight! Also the Golden Triangle Weekend Trip was excellent- was able to gain a taste of Indian history and culture and delicious food!

My experience of Dehli and of volunteering on the Street children project was wonderful. The extreme heat and humidity in Dehli was challenging and also made the conditions for working with the children a challenge also but getting to know the children ( and meeting children I had worked with in a previous volunteer trip to Dehli) on the project in the short time I was there and learning from them about their culture their hopes and their dreams made it all worthwhile. I cannot praise enough the support advice and hospitality shown by Shankar and Ramesh in particular in the Volunteer house in Dehli. Both went beyond the call of duty to welcome and support volunteers and to make everyone feel secure. This was my third time staying at the volunteer house over the past five years and I must say both are great hosts. Shankar in particular seemed to be able to anticipate the needs of all the volunteers and no matter what time of day addressed and supported volunteers in adapting to the new environment. He also with great patience addressed the practicalities of adapting to a new environment that all volunteers must make such as sorting SIM cards transport and safety issues. The accommodation was very homily and secure. It was also very well maintained by the hard work of Ramesh. Ramesh also did most of the cooking and food preparation and in doing so he made sure that the volunteers experienced regular mealtimes were they could exchange stories about their daily experience of volunteering. He also kept the house and bedclothes etc. fresh and clean which was much appreciated by all the volunteers. The only criticism that I make of the accommodation was the lack of consistent wifi. For young volunteers first time away from home in particular this was a serious issue as most wanted to keep contact with their parent(s). Over the two week period is was at times impossible to successfully make a wifi connection. The experience of the project was hard work challenging but great. The rooms which the project take place have no air conditioning so physically being there for a number of hours each day in the extreme heat and humidity is at times Gruelling. However once you become absorbed working with the kids which is great then the conditions become tolerable. The highlight of my trip was meeting both the kids and other volunteers from different countries. I think the organisation should highlight more how volunteers of different nationalities learn so much from one another through living and working together on a project. This is my third time volunteering with volunteer solutions and I have made many long term friends from meeting others in the volunteer house. I have an interest in working long term in volunteer projects. I have volunteered in many countries throughout the world and in my own country so I have accumulated a wealth of experience of the needs of both host projects and volunteers.
