“My experience was absolutely rewarding! My host family was so humble and treated me and the other volunteer with kindness and as if we were apart of the family. Seeing turtles was a very moving experience - Pablo and Haniel knew exactly what they were doing and shown great knowledge in what they do. The overall living experience was excellent. It was very comfortable and homely stay with all the facilities that I could have asked for. The highlight of my was seeing the turtle! The Local Contact during my trip was Very Friendly and Supportive. Everything was arranged perfectly and went smoothly. I definitely want to return one day.”

“Personally I really liked that the website had the header bar showing what you had completed and what wasn't completed before you left for your trip. It made things very easy and helped a lot with staying organized. I found pre-departure booklet VERY INFORMATIVE! Which I thought is a very good idea to include all this information since individuals want to know much as they possibly can before leaving. My experience volunteering with Volunteering Solutions was a great one but I think individuals have many questions before leaving to their desired country therefore I contacted the VolSol team and the replies to emails were very fast and helpful! My friends and I had a blast working at our placement! Everyone was friendly and welcoming! Also had a great time assisting patients and working with staff. The accommodation and meals were AMAZING! I don't have a single complaint or problem with our host family. They were super nice and made amazing food totally loved them all! I was pretty good but I think a few simple adjustment could make life much easier for volunteers. For example showing volunteering which bus to take or how to get around would be very beneficial. We were taken on the bus with a staff member from our placement but for the next day we got lost trying it ourselves. Everyone in the area was very nice and helpful though. Personally I loved hanging out with the host family or just having dinner with them. Such nice people and even though we couldn't talk much we made things work with google translate and all of us had a great time! Thank you guys for running such great well-organized volunteering trips! I had a great time.”

“ATV riding on Playa Jaco feeding the children during lunch (specific to all days) and hiking into the hills behind my house and making it into the clouds are few of the amazing moments I had during my volunteering trip to Costa Rica. My experience was eye-opening and the ladies who ran the daycare center definitely appreciated all of the help they could get. The overall living experience was excellent. It was very comfortable and homely stay with all the facilities I could have asked for. The overall website design was quite attractive and navigating the site was easy. It’s perfect. The pre-departure booklet was completely helpful. Got all the information I needed. The in-country staff was very friendly and supportive. Service staff was also Outstanding. They all made the program easier and smooth. I would recommend VolSol to anyone I know is willing to volunteer abroad mostly because of the variety of programs.”

“On the website I really liked the options of #different countries you offer for volunteering. The project was really awesome. I felt my experience was worthwhile and my efforts were appreciated at the project. My hostfamiLy was very good and kind. Meals we're Good! The in-country staff support is also good. The highlight of my whole experience was seeing how happy the children were at that place.”

“The &quot My Account&quot tab helped keep all the information about my program extremely well organized and helped me keep track of everything. The staff at VS returned emails that I had sent with questions within 24 hours. I loved my project and had a great time working with the kids and getting to know the teachers :) I liked the age group that I was with and felt like I could teach them something and they were all extremely appreciative. I genuinely enjoyed the submersion into real Costa Rican life. I felt like I had become a part of the country its culture and its traditions. I fell in love with my host family and the kids at my program and the other volunteers that I met on this wonderful journey. This was one of the most incredible experiences of my life :) I loved the people that I was staying with they made me feel like I was a part of the family and I was fed 3 large meals each day and they were very courteous about my food likes and dislikes and the house was very clean and comfortable. The coordinator Alex made the transition into Costa Rican life very simple made sure we all felt at ease at home and that we were enjoying the program.”

“Everyone was helpful when I had a question but I would recommend a little more structure up front about deadlines for payment and such. It would have been good to have email reminders too. I really liked working at my placement. I wish I knew more Spanish but it was still great! I loved working with the kids. Staying with the host family was the highlight for me as they were very kind and welcoming. Accommodations location was amazing. I loooooved my home stay family! They were so nice and the food was amazing! The coordinator was very supportive and helpful. I will surely recommend this program to anyone.”
