The temperature range of 35ºC – 80ºC means you can set the dehydrator low and slow for maximum retention of the living nutrients and enzymes in your fruit and vegetables, perfect for raw foodists and living food advocates.
When dehydrating meats, poultry and fish (for making jerky, biltong etc) the temperature needs to be raised to guard against pathogens such as Salmonella and E. Coli.
You can reach these higher temperatures easily and safely with the BioChef Kalahari 16 Tray Food Dehydrator.
The 24 hour digital timer ensures your produce will be perfectly dried, every time.
You can set the dehydrator to automatically turn itself off after the selected cycle so that you can leave the dehydrator in operation while you go about your day, or even while you sleep!
