It can take a while for birds to adapt to a new flavour or product in your garden. You could try only feeding one suet ball at a time until they are accepted, to minimise waste

I usually buy the plain super suet fat balls but they weren't available, so tried the berry ones. I put the fat balls in a squirrel proof feeder to keep the starlings off and the plain ones were going down rapidly via the smaller birds. However, since I put the berry ones in a couple of weeks ago the smaller birds seem a lot less interested. I don't know if it's the colour or flavour but they don't seem to like them as much. They are being nibbled but not all that much. Having said that, I've been chopping them up and putting them on the bird table and the starlings and all the bigger birds love them, but they will eat anything! I'll be going back to the plain super suets if they are available once I get through all the berry ones.

Have just filled the Guardian feeder and sparrows, tits and robins have found them and blackbirds and pigeons are picking up the bits dropped from above so all are well fed.
