Succulent sultanas are a real favourite of ground feeding garden birds such as Blackbirds, Song Thrushes and Starlings. Sultanas are especially valuable in late winter and spring when natural fruits are difficult to find.

In the breeding season Sultanas are best soaked in water so adult birds can feed them to their young. Sultanas and raisins are suitable for bird tables and ground feeders

Please note that sultanas can be harmful to dogs if eaten.

“The Sultanas supplied are a good quality and loved by the birds – they get a handful each day and although I have to sweep other things off the floor which they have knocked off the feeder, it is never the Sultanas they are too valued by the birds to leave, even after they fall into the cat danger zone! It is not worth buying the 3kg size, those are cheaper in the shops, but the saving on the 12.5 & 25 kg size is well worth having & it is not as if they go off, so worth buying. I usually by the 12.5 kg & consider it money well spent, but I may well graduate to the 25 kg next time, to save even more money.”

“A very cold spring, together with no rain, has been a difficult time for our birds. The sultanas have as ever been a great favourite, so many thanks once again. No doubt we'll be ordering more as the baby starlings have arrived.”
