Sultanas for Birds Reviews

4.8 Rating 80 Reviews
Read Vine House Farm Reviews

Succulent sultanas are a real favourite of ground feeding garden birds such as Blackbirds, Song Thrushes and Starlings. Sultanas are especially valuable in late winter and spring when natural fruits are difficult to find.

In the breeding season Sultanas are best soaked in water so adult birds can feed them to their young. Sultanas and raisins are suitable for bird tables and ground feeders

Please note that sultanas can be harmful to dogs if eaten.

These sultanas are of excellent quality, the packaging is recyclable paper and the delivery times are very good. I have bought a cheaper product elsewhere but the stalks that are included constitute a significant part of the weight and are also a chore to remove. So I went back to Vine House Farm and have not been disappointed.

Always good quality so worth the extra cost (cheaper options are available) plus they come in recyclable paper packaging. The blackbirds and thrushes love them. Delivery is prompt.

The Vine House Farm sultanas are just one component of the mixture of food I try to provide on our bird-table daily. As well as putting them on the bird-table loosely, I add them to the porridge that I put out for the birds in the winter, allowing the sultanas to remain in the porridge until it's cooled in the pan, to the point when it's solid enough to be cut into cake-like portions and put onto the bird-table.
