Filled large feeder with above food, didn't take long for the sparrows to spot it and seemed to enjoy. Pigeons soon arrived to clear up any discarded seed so nothing went to waste. Seems good seed.

I've recently switched to Vine House Farm, because my regular supplier prices have rocketed and whilst Vine House prices are the same, I figured that I'd rather buy from someone that supports wildlife trusts. I've also switched for cost reasons from straight sunflower seeds to premium high energy feed fix. The birds seem to be OK with it, but it's making a horrendous mess, as they seem to be discarding much of the small seed like the millet to get to the sunflower seeds. Basically there seems to be a lot of mess and waste. I have a really wide variety of birds; tits of all types, finches of all types, nuthatches, woodpeckers, etc. I guess that they're just being fussy and will take some time getting over the move from sunflowers seeds. I'll have to see how things go.
