“Brilliant food! I changed from the 'wont grow food' as it was extremely sticky and I had to knock the feeder to release the food down the feeder. I have used this during the winter and have not had this problem to this extent before. The Finch mix flows through easily and all the birds love it, all the tits, green finch, chaffinch, robins, etc. Will definitely buy again”
“I'm sure the seed is excellent but sadly no blue tits have come back to try it.The sparrows like it from a hanging feeder but not from the ground. They leave the millet and niger behind. That will probably grow so I will need to do more weeding.. Our local magpies go for anything except the tiny seeds. I think the no grow mix is probably the best seed as I get very little waste. The blackbird doesn't bother and prefers worms. And the hedgehog likes the bird seed . My robin has deserted me! Always an excellent service from vine farm and I like reading the newsletter”
“Arrived on time which was much appreciated whilst I was moving house.
My Greenfinch seems to love it, although is slightly less fond of the bigger seeds (almost sunflower seed size), but is getting through it quicker than he did his old food.
Over all very happy. Was disappointed in the price at first, but I hadn’t realised how large the bag was. That will last a very long time while my birdy eats only a couple calpol spoons of feed a day”
“Had a wonderful range of birds before trying this - finches, tits, nuthatches, robins, dunnocks etc. - but a week of using this meant that we lost them all.Nothing was interested, and the feeders stayed untouched. Very disappointing !
Have now moved to another supplier, which thankfully is bringing our birds back quite quickly.
This so-called Premium Finch mix is destined for the bin !”
Birds are fussy eaters and anything can cause them to disappear from feeders - building works, cats, or feeders in neighbouring gardens. Any changes to what you are feeding can also affect your garden visitors. New mixes need to be introduced gradually, alongside the original food, until the birds are used to it.
