These whole peanuts for birds contain fibre, protein and fat and are beneficial not only during the winter months but also during the breeding season, providing an essential energy boost.
“What on earth can one say about peanuts? They come ready shelled, most seem to be whole and intact, rather than split and arrive dry. Can't believe such a silly question.”
“Peanuts look fine to me. I put them in a feeder which I had purchased from Vine House Farm. Everything had arrived promptly. Placed them on offer for the birds in the same area as my fat ball and mixed seed feeders. However, the birds are not in the least bit interested in the peanuts - hence the two star rating. Bemused.”
Birds will always take the food that uses the least energy to eat, so the suet & seeds you offer will always be the first to go. It can also take a few weeks for birds to feel confident to use a new feeder, so please persevere with the peanuts, but only put out a small amount at a time.
