The Nuttery caged suet feeders are designed to allow smaller birds in but exclude large birds such as pigeons, magpies and rooks and squirrels. This caged feeder provides a safe haven for the smaller birds. Easy to fill and clean.
“Nice to find a bird feeder that the squirrels can't get into. I think the suet blocks are easier for the birds to get to the food, rather than the fat balls.”
“This is an excellent product if you want to feed fat balls to small garden birds in a container that the larger birds, like crows and jackdaws, can't access. It works for this perfectly and is well made and looks attractive too.”
“It's wonderful. The feeder is attractive, surprisingly compact and it works.
The small birds can get at the suet slabs but the larger ones and the squirrels can't. Previously the slabs only lasted a couple of days and the smaller birds were being bullied away.
We now put food for the bullies on a tray but can control how much we provide for them whilst still making sure the fat slabs are available for the tinies.
I was also very impressed with Vine House Farm's service. Good communications and fast delivery.”
“Sturdy fat ball feeder which has defeated squirrels, magpies and jackdaws and has consequently encouraged smaller birds into our garden. Would recommend.”
“excellent, sparrows and starlings are feeding from it. No Corvid, but also no tits. I wonder, are they afraid to go in there, as they feel vulnerable inside? Starlings and house sparrows can reach the suet block without going inside, therefore smaller birds, who have to go inside in order to feed face the risk of encountering their beaks.”
“Finally got a feeder that the local squirrels can’t seem to get access too. So far in the two weeks the suet block has survived without them raiding it within minutes. Hopefully this will continue.”
