“ok the seed mix is fine but the seed will grow very quickly if the feeder is put on grass and any
soil the growing of the seed is the only down side of it.”
“This arrived very promptly in a large durable sack ( now in use in the garden ) . The seed mix is going down well with surprisingly little waste, as the starlings aren't 'sifting' it. It's mainly sparrows, wood pigeons and jackdaws eating it, with the occasional fat-ball-deprived starling.
It does help if you have one (or two) large plant saucers directly under the feeder, so that the birds get a second chance at any initially discarded grain. They are getting through a large tower feeder-full every day and that is in a suburban garden - The picture was taken in the afternoon. Recommended”
