“My mealworm servings are being taken by 5 species parents - robin, house sparrow, dunnock, great-tit, song thrush. All are fed at ground level in an open feeders dish but starling and pigeon are excluded. Exclusion is achieved by having a protection drawstring cover and near constant visual observation. All species take a single 'worm except thrush. The thrush takes up to a dozen 'worms per visit. I serve 35 grams per day in 2 separate feeds. Supper/breakfast and mid morning.”
“I was perturbed to find when I opened the bag that there was quite a lot of scrumpled newspaper inside. Needless to say the worms had got themselves thoroughly mixed up in the folds and it took me ages to get them out, with many ending up on the floor and the table top. Apart from that the birds still like them.”
“Arrived promptly in good condition. A bit tricky to coax out of the newspaper They were wrapped in. I now have two semi tame Robins pestering me constantly now!”
