“Disappointed with how flimsy this is. Also, the dish is kept in place with a fixing that is not flush making it wobble on a hard surface - patio. Sadly not good value. But the birds seem to like it; after about ten days they have found their way in and enjoying Robin & Friends mix!”
“It is poorly designed because the nut that holds the dish in place protrudes therefore the cage is not able to be flat; therefore it obviously wobbles. I have it on the grass but if it was on a table, it would wobble. The idea is good but it needs redesigning. I would not recommend this design.”
“Not worthy of the price, but purchased as a gift and no time to return.
When the handles goes on it makes the lid go skewif and leaves a large gap in one corner.”
“Bought this to stop magpies getting all the food it has been out for since I received it and not one bird has eaten from it, so I feel it was a lot of money to waste”
It can take a while - weeks more than days - for birds to use a new feeder, caged or otherwise. It can depend on what you are feeding, birds will risk a quick visit for live mealworms more than for a seed mix. The position of the feeder needs to be where birds will feel safe from predators and even the weather can make a difference - mild weather doesn't bring as many birds to your garden as cold weather.
“Simple but solid construction. Live food tray is attached to base with large screw, but you may prefer to keep unscrewed for ease of filling & cleaning (it is however useful when hanging feeder from tree etc.). Cage has solid 'roof' which may help keep rain out of tray (at least a bit). There's also a wire hanger to hang feeder from, but haven't used as suspect will not be level. - Four stars only as haven't actually seen it in use... yet.”
