We liked the design, but we were sorry to find that the quality and the twist-turn fitting mechanism of the lid was of poor design, and therefore it felt less sturdy in handling than how we imagined it might be from the description. I was overall disappointed snd would not buy again.

Robust, well made and easy to fill. Since there are grey squirrels in this area as well as reds the last thing I wanted to do was encourage the grey vermin. After being inquisitive at first they are now ignoring it. Not so small birds, from having a lot, now with the feeder I have many, many more. I think a good investment, especially for my isolated rural home.

This product does just as it says. It’s strong, squirrel proof and the first day I put it up little finches came and used it. I’ve had tits, robin , green finches all using it. I am delighted. The rooks and starlings cannot reach the fat balls. Definitely recommend. Unfortunately the jackdaws can get the fat, I suggest you hang so it moves a lot to prevent these larger birds using it, unless you don't mind.

Smart looking feeder with a large enough diameter to prevent squirrels and larger birds taking the seed

Unfortunately our purchase had to be returned as it was faulty but I have to say the refund was in my account before the arrival of the returned goods which is most impressive. Thank you.

The one we bought, which is specifically for use with fat balls, is fine apart from one aspect. The twist connection between the outer cage and the upper section can easily be rotated by a squirrel. It only needs to turn a centimetre or so and the outer and inner cages drop to the ground, complete with the fat balls. It took the squirrels about half an hour to figure this out. So I drilled a very small hole (maybe 2mm diameter) through the outer and inner rings and inserted a self tapping screw to stop the lower section rotating relative to the upper section. Problem solved - but I should not have to do that, so one star deducted!
