“Very pleased with the ease of cleaning. A little disappointed that it was beginning to show signs of rust round the nob of the lid and the hanging mechanism after only a week. However, you replaced it with another. I suspect however that that one might also rust in wet weather. We shall see!”
“The resident three squirrels know they can't get to the suet blocks and so far have looked at this seed feeder and made no attempt to raid it. I had another expensive squirrel proof feeder which lasted less than 24 hours as the base of the seed tube was plastic. The exterior of this feeder is all metal so I don't expect the squirrels to break in. The lid is not easy to turn so this is also squirrel proof.”
“I have had to make a complaint to Vine House because the top lid to this feeder does not lock-down sufficienty enough to prevent the squirrels removing it.Therefore if it rains,then all the seeds get saturated before replacing the lid. Also when trying to refill the feeder,unless you are aware, the collar attachment comes away and if you are not supporting it with your hand underneath,then the whole thing can fall to the ground spilling all the seed!”
“This is a lovely, substantial feeder. The only reason for the poor review is that it's been hanging in my usual place for a couple of weeks and so far the birds have declined to venture in. Neither have any squirrels, which is good. I'm hoping that when food becomes less easy to find the birds will get used to it.”
Thank you for your review. With any new feeder it will take the birds some time to get used to it before they use it. Perhaps take down any easy accessible feeders so that the birds are more inclined to go inside for the food.
