“I find that the finches seem to prefer the sunflower hearts. If I mix the two the feeder ends up with all the small seeds in the tray, so it seems that the finches leave them and take all the sunflower hearts they can get to. However, I use the Finch mix in another feeder and the sparrows seem to like it.”
“Good mix. Bought a new feeder specially for the mix but sadly small seeds flicked out by tits who demolish this mix in preference to peanuts. Ended up putting a bucket under the feeder to collect the wasted seed and hopefully this will be eaten by our hens. Like the fact that the proportions of seed are clearly given.”
“Firm favourite with our Pembrokeshire mix of gold finches, sparrows, tits various, chaffinch, green finches. Turtle doves and pigeons clear up on the ground.”
“Everybody seems to love this mix - not just the greenfinches, goldfinches and chaffinches but bluetits, great tits, coal tits, long-tailed tits and there's a sneaky reed bunting helping himself from time to time.”
