“These fat balls are so hard I cannot break them up and use them in my ground feeder and the birds are not using them in the fat ball container either. I am very disappointed and will not be buying again.”
“The birds love them! I was pleased to see that these are now being despatched in cardboard boxes - although I re-used the plastic tubs for all sorts of things - for washing bird feeders in; for storing bird food and as the base to support a large cardboard shape to create a teapot in which the Hatter and the Hare could push the Dormouse for a production of 'Alice'!”
“Usually, the suet balls from VHF go like hot cakes - squirrels, pigeons, starlings, magpies all gobble them up within the hour, if we put 4-5 in our feeder.
We put some of these out several days ago, and they are still much in evidence..
They are like concrete - so the flavour may be fine (i havent checked!), but its proving too difficult to get bits off them.
A shame. We will persevere, might even break them up - which will be messy and not really to their purpose, and will need to supplement with other suet products.”
