“I haven't had this problem before, so hopefully it is a one-off, but it shouldn't have passed the quality control. The black sunflower seeds had a very high percentage of other grain mixed in - various small seeds including millet and also a lot of wheat. Consequently the feeders are now clogged with all the small seed and the mainly blue, coal and great tits can no longer access the lighter sunflower seed. Not what I or the birds have come to expect. I will have to sieve the seed if I am to to use it!”
“Decent price, especially when bought in larger quantities - which is OK as Vine House products do go down well with the birds. Cheaper seeds from supermarkets etc can sit there for quite a time uneaten, sometimes to be thrown away in the end. Environmentally sounder than mass market products too.”
