Hi, Heike - thanks for your review. Just to clarify, this jersey is not designed with thick material for wearing alone on really cold days; the material is the same as for the short sleeved equivalents, meaning that it can be worn on all but the hottest days if you prefer longer sleeves. Many people have found it also works well on winter rides, but it's not thermal as such.
As for the fit, it is designed to be snug on the arms to avoid any flapping, so should feel tight, but of course if it's not comfortable you're welcome to return it.
