Hi, Samantha - sorry the cap didn't quite work for you. As you've found, it's waterproof but it is thin, deliberately so so that it fits neatly under a helmet. We find it does provide a valuable extra layer and wind/rain protection, but it's not made from 'cosy' material per se.
