“Why is there lemon juice in a vanilla syrup?! I used to moderately enjoy this vanilla syrup when I lived in the US, when the ingredients had actual vanilla extract. I've since moved to the UK and bought these smaller bottles of Monin vanilla expecting it to taste the same. It's citrusy and sour! It makes my vanilla lattes taste like I've put spoiled milk in. Then I check the ingredients and see there's concentrated lemon juice. Why??? On what earth would lemon juice go into a vanilla flavoring? It tastes vile. 1883's vanilla is my new go-to, it's also sold in a small size bottle.”
