Good value, good quality, very waterproof and quite stylish. Only things I would change is to make the chest pockets bigger and possibly use water proof zips on these pockets and use poppers rather than Velcro to secure the cover over the main zip.

I've been using this jacket for the last year, It's been worn throughout hot days, windy days, sunny days and snowy days - and I can't think of a bad thing to say about it. Firstly, one of the main features I was looking for in a jacket was it's breathability. This jacket does not make you sweat uncontrollably like many others do, and it features ventilation zips underneath the armpits encase you start getting warm (I keep these open as the norm). Using the zips, it's easy to keep warm without being too hot. The overall quality of the jacket is brilliant. I've really been putting it through it's paces but it's yet to show any signs of wear. The zips are holding up brilliantly and the waterproofing is still perfect, I was concerned that they didn't look like they'd last but they are strong as anything. The velcro cuffs are still going strong and have been really good, they need a clean every so often from all the grime but are yet to fail. I've worn this jacket through some serious downpours and i'm yet to get wet. Trekking in pouring rain for 8 hours, the coat will be soaked but i'll be perfectly dry beneath. I can't comment much on the hood, I love the fact that you can remove it as i'm not massive fan of hoods - but can easily zip it back on when needed. I took it of as soon as I got it, and it's been in my bag ever since. But I know it's there if I need it. If you're looking to invest in a great quality jacket that can keep you dry, warm (but not too warm), flexible and last a lifetime - then this is your jacket. When my one eventually gives up, I'll be getting another one.

I work as a contractor for the UN in UNIMOG and the Golan heights, which get surprisingly cold (and wet) by night and certain times of the year. You also have to train in Ireland and Finland with peacekeepers who will serve there. I have extended family members with positive experiences of TRESPASS in Southport and Preston, so against my better judgement I resisted the urge to go to an online purveyor of last-year's big-name lines. I also had a good experience with Trespass last year when returning a faulty item before Glastonbury. There is a quality to an organisation that responds well to the moments when it doesn't get it all right. More than that, my second child has just arrived - so whilst you don't get quality for nothing I simply can't go splashing out on premier brands paying 400 for a backpack the way I used to. I picked up one of these and a KUMAR on a leave weekend with the wife in Southport plus some DLX shoes, based on advice gleaned when buying the kids' winter clothing in Preston and St George's in London. We get blistering cold and driving rain on our field inspections, and I found myself well shielded from rain and surprisingly warm when my Berghaus and Arcteryx-clad colleagues started to get wet. The clearance DLX shoes were OK too and I got a second pair to go mountain biking. I did start to get a bit cold beyond a point and it's worth mentioning that while it is windproof, this Oswalt thingy isn't designed to be thermal as such. However I'd picked up a couple of cheap fleece layers which more than did the job. One of the most reassuring things is to meet someone passionate and genuine about his products, but who is straight with you and doesn't pretend it is something NASA should give to spacemen etc. All the Trespass staff in Southport, Harrow and Preston were good ambassadors for their company and gave me advice that wasn't just sales talk. It would be good to see the wrist cuff Velcro straps built a little more robust, and possibly an unzippable fleece lining. However for an upper-mid-range offer, this is a surprisingly robust piece of clothing, now on its second tour of the Golan having aced a hiking holiday in the Dolomites. Thank you Trespass and DLX!

I purchased what I assumed would be a very dry, breathable and well made jacket, to face the harsh weather's on Dartmoor. I took the jacket back to store twice, both times because of the hoods pull ties being weak and breaking. Also, the top pocket got wet inside during rainy walk on the moors, my mobile phone inside was soaked, good job it's waterproof. Also on the rainy walk the inside of the arms near wrists were soaking and the breathability of the jacket is poor. So on the second return of jacket I got my money back and have decided to go with a far more superior brand that will stand up to the weather that Dartmoor throws during the seasons.

I have used this jacket for the last month, in some severe Derbyshire storms. It was very comfortable, warm and most importantly dry. My last outing in Edale, it was heavy rain for 6 hours hiking, temperature 4c, but i was never cold or wet. Absolute superb jacket in any situation, down the pub, football match, fishing,I think you could even use this for a round of golf, it's that versatile. Highly recommend.

I have used this jacket for 1 year. I am very happy with the waterproofing. The opening bellow the arm pitt are very convenient when you are active and the fabric is a bit stretch. I ended up using this jacket when cycling to work. Only thing is one wrist strap which did not last (it is in plastic and it cracked a bit early). Overall I am really satisfied with product.
