The Alps are a walk in the park in these shoes. Our Scarp men's waterproof walking shoes make venturing out into the wild seem like an everyday activity (or maybe it is, if you're a lucky one), thanks to their guards and breathability.

Second pair I have bought. Comfortable, lightweight, water resistant and good for casual walking - but you will need something more heavy duty if you are planning on going up Snowdon or Scafell Pike.

Excellent value, especially in the sale. Comfortable and strong.

OK would have brought a different style if the store had a wider range. OK for walking but prefer a less bootish shoe for long drives

This is my second pair of this shoe and although it is comfortable to wear and my feet do not get too hot in them. However, it would be nice is the inner-sole was fixed in place before you brought them as with both pairs I have had to glue it to stop it moving.

I am amazed at how good, durable and comfortable these shoes are for the price. For decades I have resisted synthetic, lightweight walking shoes and always preferred thick heavy leather walking boots. The latter still have their place for me in very rough and mountainous terrain (horses for courses), but these wonderful lightweight shoes have changed my outlook for most walking purposes dramatically. I bought them for a lengthy India trip in mainly dry and dusty desert terrain, but even 1 1/2 years later now, after much further exposure in my home country of wet and muddy rural Wales, they are still going extremely strong. One good wipe-down and they look almost new again. And they are so un-clunky that they are perfectly o.k. to wear when shopping in town. I also find them much more waterproof than some previous reviewers here have suggested. But above all, the fantastic grip, light weight and comfort are simply amazing. I am converted.

Do not be fooled. These are in no way shape or form waterproof. Even walking in wet grass lets water in after a few minutes. I even tried to boost the water repellency before using them by using Nikwax waterproofing, but to no avail. But let's be honest, I didn't really expect them to, I paid less than £50 (btw the original price tag of £95 must be an artificially inflated price to make the reduction look more tempting). But what is good about this shoe is that they are extremely comfortable, very sturdy with good ankle support, which is why I'm rating them a 3*. If you want to get waterproof you have to spend a lot more than £50. FYI, I'd avoid Berghaus too as their quality seems to have dropped, they used to be ultra reliable, now it's just fashion clothing made on the cheap with max profit for them.

I bought a pair of these from the store in Milton Keynes. They are exremely comfortable BUT be aware that it is very easy to pull the tabs that the laces pass through if you attempt to pull the laces tight without first wrapping them around the metal hooks closest to the top of the shoe.
