“It arrived on our doorstep in a burst of pink light, with two orange leaves. I smiled and my mummy planted it in a bright orange pot. Its leaves have fallen into the ground and it is warmed by the fat red sun that flickers over the fence during these dark days. I can watch it in the garden through the window and will write again when the blossom arrives in the spring as it will be my birthday and time to take my first tree photograph.”
