“Extremely pleased with our new mantelpiece, we had the medium oak which goes perfectly with our furniture. Arrived very well packaged, really well made, and easy to fix to the wall . It’s quite weighty , but it is solid oak .We love it . Finishes our lounge off a treat.”

“Once sourced from different Companies, I was extremely happy to be dealing with Catherine at Traditional Beams. We had a few chats on the phone to discuss size, ageing with suitable cracks and colour, of course. Although the colour I wanted was not on the website at the time, I was convinced by her that there was another colour they can produce. `Rugger Brown` is the shade. Catherine sent me pictures with the corbels just to confirm that I was happy. Once agreed, the mantel with corbels was packaged superbly - can`t say any more than that. In fact, I was even more impressed with the beam and its colour when I took it out of the packaging. The fireplace chap and I put it up together as it is a heavy piece of timber. I sent some pictures of the oak mantel with corbels to Catherine once the whole fireplace was built - I think she was impressed too. I am more than happy for Traditional Beams to use these pictures on their website. As someone who played rugby, I had a laugh with Catherine about the name `rugger brown` and will only complement the choice she made. I am still interested in the shelves they produce (rugger brown, obviously) but have more important things to do outside. Thanks again to all concerned at Traditional Beams.”
