The wooden shelves are very good and the fixing kit in principle is ingenious however in practice when you know where you want the shelves to go and you are therefore limited as to where to drill the fixing holes, then you find that on a traditional dob and dab plasterboard wall some of the holes have adhesive behind and the ingenious fixings can’t work as there is no clearance between the block wall and the plasterboard. You will need to replace some of the fixings with heavy duty rawlplugs and screws. I needed to change 3 of the 8 to fix what are in themselves heavy shelves before putting any load on them.

Hello, thanks for your review. The fixings are designed for plasterboard walls only, not dot & dab - the T brackets we supply are really versatile so we would have recommended using some core fix fixings in conjunction with the T bracket which are suitable for dot & dab walls :)

They look great! Installation was more complex than anticipated and it took many attempts to get the shelves level.

Hi Rebecca, thanks for your review! We are pleased to hear you are happy with your shelf :) Sorry to hear you found the installation a little complex, as specified on the installation instructions you could use an adjustable spanner and turn the rod clockwise, this will then push against the back plate and force the front plate upwards. The fixings are specifically designed this way for leveling purposes :)

Love the look of the shelf, very solid. I bought the plasterboard version which meant that it came with gripit fixings. I didn't end up using them as we have a dot and dab wall plasterboard wall and, being a DIY novice, I didn't have an undercutting tool which is (I think) needed to install this kind of fixing if you hit a dab of adhesive. I used different fixings (corefix) so that the shelf brackets were secured to the blockwork behind the wall which worked fine. There were no instructions with the shelf and so I downloaded some from the site, which was OK and worked in the end but not without some concern about things like which way up to put the brackets (sounds obvious but if you have not used these fixings before or hung a floating shelf it wasn't immediately clear). All in all great product, could do with a bit more instruction of how to fit though.

Hello, thank you for your feedback. You are correct, the plasterboard fixings are not designed for dot & dab walls as they are designed to grip to the back of the plasterboard so their would need to be a void, however the brackets we supply with the plasterboard shelves are very versatile and we also recommend to our customer to use the corefix fixings for dot & dab walls in conjunction with our T Brackets :) We have gone paperless so the installation instructions are sent via email with your tracking information but I am glad you managed to locate them on our website :) We are glad you are pleased with the end result!
