Looks good but I had to make a grill to allow air under to keep the fire going Problem solved

The chimney function works better than other fire pits I've used, there is still a bit of smoke that comes out from the front especially if there is breeze or wind change. I completed the paint curing process to the letter as described in the manual but the coating on the outside still managed to flake off. I think this happens to them all eventually. A tin of heat resistant paint from Screw fix has sorted this problem out. Log store underneath is handy and looks well however the ash from the fire above falls through the gaps onto this wood which is a bit annoying. 3 out of 5 stars is about right for this firepit.

The Obelisk is nice contemporary styling but after 2 small fires to cure the paint as advised there is obvious staining on the outside. Almost looks like rust but isn't. Also the design allows ash and debris to fall onto the wood storage compartment through the base plates of each section which don't fit snugly. Also because the plates to both sections don't fit snugly ash and debris falls through onto the floor below. The cover listed in the obelisk handbook which i ordered doesn't fit. It is for an Apollo wood burner. Despite contact 3x with Tower issue of getting correct cover is still unresolved.
