I purchased this Vortex 5 Litre as it was especially good value for money. Being Tower, i knew from past experience that its a brand I know and trust, and as an added bonus, the instructions are easy, as are the controls. Well Done. jim

I am very happy with my Tower Vortex 5l airfryer. I used it for the first time yesterday and tested it by cooking sausages. I was amazed at how easy it is to use, quick cooking time and the sausages were brown and really juicy. I will buy an airfryer cook book for time and temperature settings so I can cook more meals. I think my airfryer is my new best friend!!

My partner bought one & after seeing how efficient it was - a new concept in cooking - I bought one. It is much more economical than a conventional grill / oven & also uses much less oil (in fact, can be used without any oil). It has a dehydrating effect whilst cooking so was able to 'dry' some large foraged field mushrooms very successfully. The drying process also concentrates the flavour - so a win-win method. Have been particularly pleased with the way thin aubergine slices turn out as not an easy veg to cook. The drying method enhances the flavour whilst not being saturated in oil. Making Spanish grilled peppers is now a doddle: just pile them in, set the timer & turn occasionally once skins are charred. Peeling them is so much easier. Have experimented with courgettes - they grill nicely & maintain their shape (again, this method enhances their delicate flavour) - ditto rhubarb. I must try apples next.....perhaps bananas? Home-grown potatoes (cubed) also a treat & done in just 15 mins. Sweet potato chips are also good or thin slices could be 'crisped'. The latest successful experiment has been with fried onions. The best feature - which perhaps Tower has not exploited enough - is that it's very safe for older children to use. And the busy cook can get on with other prep knowing that the air fryer is doing its thing, so well! (Cauliflower /broccoli was disappointing but will persevere.) My partner chose this because it just had 2 dials - a manual timer & temperature gauge. It's also easy to clean too & doesn't take up much space. The heat that it releases at the back is not excessive. He has experimented with adding a small grill to allow the air to circulate under the food & regularly does cheese on toast. I have bought one for my sister's wedding present & am sure, once she experiences it, there'll be another purchase for her daughter who has 3 kids. Good for the reluctant cook too because it's so easy to use & I have to stress I find it much safer than the conventional grill or fry-pan method (& it's so cheap to run). I do tell everyone who may have an interest because it's such a boon in the kitchen - on a parr with microwave ovens when they first appeared (except that there are no 'unknowns' about this method of cooking). Will try & upload some pics.......

Easy to use, cooks food such as chicken legs and thighs, sausages, chops, chips, fish fingers etc very quickly compared to other methods, with less mess. French fries are lovely and crispy. Although it says 5litre capacity, you can't put a huge amount in the container, as it does not go crispy. Ideal for 2 people.
