“New to air frying but after a few videos and a couple of demonstrations on t.v. decided to try it out. Probably not for fine cooking/dining but more for cooking some small portions rather than me using a full oven. Maybe as I get more adventurous the fine cooking will creep in?
Read some reviews online about size, wattage etc and went for the Tower 4ltr fryer probably big enough for two maybe three people depending on what you need and portion size. Shopped about and got the one I wanted direct from Tower on offer with a 3year warranty when fryer was delivered and registered online.
Free delivery included as well although they was offered free next day express delivery but took 3 x days to deliver, no big deal and cannot blame Tower as it was passed to Hermes who apparently (according to tracking) held onto my fryer for that time in their depot) but enough about Hermes.
Came well packaged with instructions (not a cook book) and couldn't wait to try it. Bought some Frozen thin french fries, grabbed a couple of handfulls and chucked it in the fryer. Gave the basket a shake to spread them out, as it is a digital fryer, pressed the chips sign which took me to a preset time and temp. The whole unit is simple to use with some additional buttons to press if you want. Plus or minus temp and same with time, it is that simple. Almost all reviews advise stopping half way through cooking and shaking to evenly spread the cooking Vortx around your food. There is no timer or reminder for this so you are best placed either setting a reminder with your phone, egg timer etc or just try and remember.
I was amazed at two things initially, firstly how quiet the fryer was and secondly how no smell was evident on cooking chips but again, maybe I remember frying chips years ago and how much of a smell that left on your clothes and curtains etc.
The result was clean, tasty french fries far better than if cooked in an oven.
One of the major selling points for me was these chips were cooked for me in 10 minutes TOTAL cooking time. Yes 10 minutes in total. With a wattage of 1400 compared to 2700 for my oven (and would have taken 10 minutes pre heat plus 20 minutes cooking) my smart meter sighed a huge sigh of relief.
Overall I know the more I use my Tower air fryer the more adventurous I will become cooking chicken, meats fish etc but I must say that I am glad I choose a healthier way to cook (yes even with chips to start with), the Tower air fryer is easy to use, for me the right size for what I need and price (£48.00), and warranty (3 years) was Ideal for me.
Delivery free which was a bonus as well.
Would I recommend the Tower Air Fryer, yes I would based on the above.

“I've a son with special needs & meal times can be tricky. But from I received the airfryer I haven't had one complaint. It's quick & very easy to use which is what I wanted to give my teenage son some independence. Very easy to clean & holds a lot. We have cooked all kinds already & haven't used the oven once. I don't know why I didn't have this sooner.”

For chips, bring the drawer/basket out several times to shake and ensure good distribution and even cooking.
