Cavaletto 1.7 Litre Jug Kettle with Rose Gold Accents Reviews

Decent mid range kettle. looks good - but not quiet, not as noisy as some. If you want a quiet kettle your best bet seems to be one you put on the hob - my saucepan was much quieter.

This kettle boils really fast but is quite noisy. The water is very hot, hotter than any previous kettles I have had, which is great. I wouldn't say that the accents are rose gold, they look more of a yellow gold. All that said I do love the green colour and would recommend it to anyone that asked.

A nice-looking largely metal kettle from a manufacturer that according to Which Magazine makes kettles that develop fewer faults than most other leading brands. We found that the kettle will boil a full 1.7 litre filling in about 3 minutes 43 seconds. The outside surface of the kettle can become rather hot. The noise volume is moderate. The minimum volume of water advised is 0.5 litres which is quite good but slightly more than for some other kettles - so less economic if you just want enough water for one standard-sized cup. One needs to take care not to over-fill as filling even fractionally above the marked line below the word "Max" will result in water being ejected from the spout when full-boil is reached. The stand is plastic and very light - to the extent that we wondered whether it would stay stable and flat when the kettle was not in place but this has not proved to be an issue. There is a transparent plastic panel for viewing water level on the left-hand side of the kettle when holding the handle. Whether this is very useful will depend upon which hand you use to fill the kettle and on which side of the sink your tap is. We hadn't realised previously what a difference it makes! If the viewing panel is on the 'wrong' side - it is for us - then this makes it more difficult to judge water level when filling. You can fill via the spout or by opening the lid (which is easy to do by pressing a button on the handle). There is a detachable lime scale filter in the spout. We haven't yet messed with this but it is said to be easy to remove and clean.

Chosen because of it's Which? review this is a handsome kettle which promises to be long-lived. I haven't had it long enough to check this! A good price direct from Tower, quick despatch and easy website, thus avoiding the mega corporations who avoid contributing their taxes.

Really good kettle. Easy to fill and good idea, in my hard water area,to have the heating element hidden the base of the kettle. Very pleased with the colour.
