I normally buy the permanent colour and thought I would try the semi for a change. Sadly I was very disappointed as it failed to cover my grey even after 45 minutes in my hair. I bought 2 boxes so tried the second box a few days later and still it did not cover the grey roots. Sadly disappointed and won't be buying again. Sue

Hi Sue, thank you for getting in contact with us. We are sorry that you found your last experience using Tints of Nature disappointing. In comparison to our Permanent range, the Semi-Permanent grey coverage is not as high performing. We recommend that our semi-permanent colours may cover up to 80% of greys, however this can be dependent on hair type and condition. Grey/white hairs can be very stubborn and at times will only be covered by a permanent shade. We have passed your review on to our customer support team, who will be in contact with you shortly to help resolve your experience. Kind Regards Tints of Nature

It covered my grey hair very well but it has a red undertone.

Hello, thank you for your review and rating. The 4MCB has a slight underlying red tone due to the chestnut shade running through it, our colours are designed to work with your natural base and will highlight any natural warm tones you may already have in your hair. If you looking for a less warm Semi-Permanent shade we would recommend the 3DBR Dark Brown or trying one of our Permanent natural shades paired with an ash shade, e.g. 4N & 4C Medium Ash Brown. We can offer more assistance and support if you would like to try a different shade, our customer support team can be contacted at happyhair@tintsofnature.com or alternatively on 01590 613490. Dear Leslie Wilson Thank you for contacting us and sharing your feedback. We are very sorry to hear of your experience. Our semi-permanent colours do not contain PPD/PTD ingredients which many people have allergies and reactions to, however you can develop reactions and allergies to any natural ingredient at any point, therefore we do not recommend colouring your hair if you experience any reaction after carrying out a skin sensitivity test. In terms of the grey coverage, our semi-permanent colours are designed to cover up to 80% of greys. White/grey hairs can be especially hard to cover. If you are able to use permanent colours we wold suggest that this is a better option, permanent colours contain pigments which are much more effective in covering grey and white hairs. To improve coverage further we would advise using Tints of Nature Hydrate Treatment prior to colouring, this powerful treatment prepares the hair for colouring and restores the correct moisture levels in the hair to give the best possible coverage. To provide further support our customer service team will be in contact via your email address provided with your review, to discuss your reaction and experience and come to a happier resolution for you. Having developed a skin sensitivity to my hairdresser permanent dye and finding out that most permanent and semi-permanent dyes included the ingredients (PPD and Disperse Yellow 3) causing my allergic reactions, I was delighted to find them missing from the Tints of Nature ingredient list. I have grey around my hairline and 30% grey at my parting, so was looking for a tint that would help me cover greys and grow out my permanent dye. This product was more effective at covering the greys than the semi-permanent at the hairdresser and without the itchy spots on scalp AND at a fraction of the price. As with all semi-permanent dyes, it does wash out, so I'm trying to minimise the number of times I wash my hair a week and hopeful that I can get away with re-application every 3 wks. On the downside, it is a lengthy process to wash, towel dry, 15 min hydrate treatment (optional), rinse, towel dry, apply dye and wait, wash, condition, rinse. The dye colour has quite a lot of red in it, which hopefully will not result in too much brassiness over multiple applications, but on the plus side - it was a lot less dark than the picture, which was good as I usually use a light to medium brown colour.

Ok, so I have about 30 percent greys, only use a semi-perment hair colour and had started getting sensitivity issues with most chemical brands. I searched for an organic (henna free) hair colour and stumbled across Tints of Nature. My hair is a mixture of natural colours, rich brown with hints of auburn. Although their semi permanent colour range isn't extensive, I enquired if I could mix two semi-permanent colours together and was told most definitely! However, when both the colours came through I decided on sticking with the Medium Chestnut Brown. I have quite long hair and I would say that the sachets of shampoo and conditioner which you are given are not enough but don't really pose a problem. I did a patch test as advised, didn't have a reaction so two days later commenced with the hair colour. I only left the hair colour on for 30 mins (should have been at least 40 mins as stated) as it was my first time using the product and I wasn't sure of the colour. When washing the colour from my hair the water ran a hue of pink (I was concerned - but there was no need). My hair colour is a lovely shade of shiny chesnut with a slight hint of mahogany. My family who have no problems in telling the truth said that my hair looked lovely and the colour very natural. My greys were almost all covered/blended in. I'm not sure how long the present colour will last but I am very pleased with the shinyness, colour, coverage, lack of reaction and the fact that it has no dangerous chemicals in. I would definitely recommend and will be ordering more. Hopefully in the future they will introduce more semi permanent colours to their range.

Dear Julia Thank you for taking the time to review Tints of Nature. We are always here to offer help and advice and we have some great tips on how to get the maximum grey coverage possible including when using Semi-Permanent Colours. You can visit our website where we have handy hints and tips http://www.tintsofnature.com/hints-tips or alternatively you can call us on 01590 613490 or email happyhair@tintsofnature.com. Our Customer Support Team are always happy to help. With regards to your colour fading, do you use our care range? Our shampoos, conditioners and treatments are gentle on coloured hair and keep colour longer-lasting. Most other shampoos and conditioners contain harsh ingredients (e.g. SLS and salt) that actually strip colour out of hair. We would advise against using shampoos and conditioners that contain these harsh checmicals to maintain your colour for longer. A weekly treatment will also help keep your colour for longer and keep your hair in healthy condition. Keep an eye on your inbox as we will be sending you out a special promotional discount as a thank you for reviewing to use on your next order. Best regards Tints of Nature

I found the product quick and easy to use and it dyed my greys and blended them well into my hair. This gave me a really natural colour and I was not allergic like I am to other hair dye brands. It 's also great to know it has not been tested on animals and is a UK brand.
