“Hi I was sorry that a while back I stopped being able to buy the Gipsy 60 denier Velvet Opaque tights at Fenwick in Brent Cross, where I had been buying them for probably 15 years. I love those tights - or I should say 'loved'. I hadn't thought about buying online until recently as I had several pairs in my cupboard at home. I started looking for them again and no one had them, so I looked online and ordered some . I was so disappointed! As I took them out the bag I could feel straightaway that they're NOT soft and velvety at all, which was the best thing about them. They feel like loads of other 'nothing special' tights. It really is not fair to call them 'Velvet' as when I compare an old pair with these new ones they just don't feel the same at all. I noticed too that on your site they say 88% nylon and 12% elastane, when in fact the new pink packs say 90/10. I don't know if this makes a difference. The old and new packs say 'with microfibre' so why do they not feel the same? Is this a one-off batch or is this how they are now?”

“Despite summer being, allegedly, on its way... surprise, surprise, it feels a *long* way away. *That's* why the days of thick - i.e. denier in the high tens, are vital and these tights tick that box admirably. That aside, they both look and feel great :)”

“These tights look fabulous. They look great with a velvet dress for a night out and equally smart with office clothes during the day. I bought size small and I'm 5'6 and a size 12. The fit is excellent, maybe slightly tight at the waistline, if you want to avoid this buy the 100 opaque which are really comfy, but otherwise highly recommend.”
