“The Hampton from Thomas Bird is a good quality and comfortable dress shoe. I gave it a rating of 4 out of 5 for two reasons. I wish the oxblood dye were blended across the top of the shoe like the oxfords and whole cuts instead of the quite noticeable 1" margins. Second, in my opinion, shoes in this price range should be good year welted instead of blake stitched for future sole replacement. Not to say these shoes can't be re-soled, as long as you can find a willing cobbler. Overall, this is a very sleek and stylish gentlemen's dress shoe that should last for many years. Size down to the nearest whole number if you're normally a half-size.”
