“The Benson Wholecut Oxford is a great shoe right out of the box. I have the standards (black cap-toe and brown wingtip), but I wanted something a little different, a shoe that made a statement but with class. The Benson Wholecut Oxford in grey seemed to fit the bill. However, I am a new Thomas Bird customer and I have a high instep; so, I was concerned with the closed lacing system of the Benson. When the shoe arrived I was immediately impressed with the quality of leather, patina, construction, and its weight. Then I tried the shoe on and was blown away. Separate but related, I live on the east coast of the United States; I ordered the shoes on a Sunday evening and had them in my hand Wednesday evening. I will order from Thomas Bird again!”
