“The comparison site was fine but Wouldn't use this insurer again, all drivers on policy had to provide full dvla disclosure and send photo copys of drivers licenses which was a pain.. Got a bad feeling about this company hope I don't ever need to make a claim can see them being a nightmare in 16 years of driving and 16 years having clean Licence never had to jump through as many hoops ... Then they have cheek to ring me up trying to sell me extras..”
“They are average at best and as they are working in an area with little competition it is difficult for us as consumers. They are pushy when it comes to gaining documents from us, like a copy of driving licence, then when you want to move your no claims onto your insurance, and hope for a discount, they drag their heels.
Also you can only talk to them via their online chat thing, which is always busy, and then takes along time, if it does not just chuck you out after waiting for 5 minutes or so.
The insurance cover is also basic at best, with then extra charges for anything else.”
“After moving back to the UK Auronet were the wrong choice!! They took the money asking for just a tenants agreement and my driving licence. After which this was not good enough for them and asked for the V5 (which takes upto 6 weeks from the DVLA) and asked for utility bills in the time frame of 10 days!! Impossible for a person who has just moved back. Then after charging a premium rate on their phone line they cancelled my policy returning £94 out of £247 policy!! £75 less than they agreed to refund.
So I went to Natwest who didn't require any such documents saying it's not normal for an insurer to demand such documentation. In my experience autonet are just a scam. Great company to take your money with poor customer service and staff that make promises they quickly change.
Stay away.”
“Everything went quite smoothly online until I decided to actually purchase a policy. I was advised on the forms to check everything as it formed a contract and if I'd been untruthful or deliberately misleading the insurance could be invalid. So as directed I started to check the form I had completed but it did not show my speeding fine or my wife as a named driver. I then decided to ring up to check that these details were actually within the policy schedule. I was assured that they were. I was then asked if I wanted to pay over the phone and was about to do so when I was told that there was an admin fee of £15 so I declined and returned to finalise things online.
Also at the end of my actual purchase online a form popped up asking me to fill in the full details of my previous insurer so YOU could check my no claims discount. I filled this in and discovered that the underwriters - NIG - were the same and said so on the form. I then assumed that you would check my no claims entitlement. I then had at least 3 emails and I think I may have had a couple of texts telling me to submit proof of no claims asap!! Come on guys which is it?? Everything was going really well.
So sort out exactly what the customer should be able to check online to save ringing up and checking (which defeats the object of doing it online in the first place)
Get rid of this ridiculous fee of £15 for paying over the phone.
Get rid of that form that says you will check the NCD or keep it and you do it.
Otherwise everything else went smoothly but at the material times things seemed to slide a bit. Thanks”
