“Spoke to one agent in the company and she clearly did not know what she was doing. Could obviously only read off a prompt card. Was passed over to another agent in the same company who did know what they were doing but as a van insurance company you are not fully informed on levels of cover required by van drivers and van contents insurance was found to be poor to non existent”
“Felt like I was being conned ,sent 3 sets documents required by post ,told they were not received .Scanned and emailed same docs ,3 weeks later I received a notice of cancellation ,I phoned and was told that only scan of front of photo licence ,front and back of licence side by side so impossible to only see front ,I still have original email and it's clear as day .Also didn't disclose an SP 30 conviction for 1 of named drivers which was unknown to me when I applied,I was asked to pay an extra premium of £94 to cover this ,when I got the email confirmation the extra premium was in fact £44 +£50 ADMIN FEE .
Telephone call very long and repeatedly put on hold ,lots of laughing and joking in back ground and also overheard someone bragging about how much extra they added to a policy . Overall I think the stalling tactics are becoming standard practice with cheaper insurance quotes from comparison sites ,they get you past the 14 day cooling off period and then hit you with extra costs , if you cancel you stand to lose a sizeable chunk of the premium already paid.
Time for the ombudsman to intervene I think . Going elsewhere next year!”
