I bought this to experiment with creating a stratum 1 NTP server, using a Raspberry Pi 4. The board comes with a GPS antenna on a 3 metre cable, and a SMA adapter to connect it. The optional battery - a ML1220 - is not included and is difficult to obtain in the UK; I only found 1 supplier and had to buy 2 which shipped from France and cost nearly £15. The board and antenna are very good. From plugging in to finishing the necessary software installation took less than half an hour. When the antenna is situated inside my garage, cgps tells me it can use around 4 satellites and takes around 5 minutes to lock onto those. Moving the antenna to the window sill results in around 12 satellites and a lock established in a few seconds. I have finally mounted the antenna outside in a small plastic box on a pole such that it clears the roof and has a good sky view. Now it locks onto around 24 satellites virtually immediately (I'm seeing mainly GPS, GLONASS, and SBAS with the very occasional Galileo). TL;DR? Excellent board!
