The RPi5 is a worthy upgrade to the previous version. The desktop experience with Raspberry OS is much more fluid and smoother. It delivers a strong performance and adds features like faster DDR4, on/off button and dedicated Fan Header, PCI-e interface and faster MicroSD speeds. In the longer term, I'd recommend the Pi5 as the difference in price to the Pi3/4 justifies buying the newer model (for projects that require higher-spec hardware). If you have older hardware that runs well (e.g. Home Assistant) I don't think is worth upgrading for now (IMHO)

Looks great, and seems to be perfectly functional as an upgrade to the Raspberry Pi 4, though as I have only received this it will take a bit more going into to get the most out of it. The OS can be a little flaky as after installing this I lost the menus, but now have them back, this is the first time I have experienced this on a Pi.

Not long had this however got a few ideas for this pi5. Love how it has its own power button. Been longing for this. Shame the placement of the connection is different to the pi 4. Would have liked to see some backward compatible with previous cases. It should be 2.4 times more powerful than its predecessor the pi 4. Time will tell. Overall. I have been looking forward to getting this

Faster Pi5 opens up more applications, especially when used with Pi active cooler.
