“I have only had this kit a couple of weeks, so still getting used to it. I am new to the Pi world, but have often used Linux on other devices. The Pi 400 is well made and (with a couple of reservations) very well thought out. I got it up and running straight away, using an old 17" monitor as a display. It is very quick to boot up or shut down, and most apps open quickly too. Impressive performance. Overall, a very good and accessible way into the Pi and Linux world. I have two negative points. The absence of audio jacks for speakers or a microphone is a major oversight. I have managed to connect it to a portable speaker via bluetooth, but I do think this is a shortcoming in the design. The second complaint is common to many Linux devices, the technical difficulty of getting it to talk to a printer. I have installed CUPS and other software, but I cannot persuade it to connect to any of the three printers I have available. In summary, a great little machine, but version 2 ought to address the sound issue, and if the software team could come up with a printing solution 'out of the box' that, too, would be a winner.”
