Got my hands on RPI4, sounds promising. However, I ran into an issue that HDMI wouldn't display, after googling I found out that HDMI cable should be connected to RPI4's primary HDMI port (the one closer to the power port) and it works now. Another issue is that RPI4 heats significantly more than RPI3.

The new pi runs great, but hot!! This is not a criticism, as this level of performance was likely to have side effects. Pi hut, please make a fan shim / hat available, my bolt on fan looks horrible!! This will fit in the previous models case with minor modifications.

Cannot wait to get my hands on this version 4 release of the Pi and with 4GB RAM! Straight away I'm rigging in to an 3D printed VR head gear chassis I've made, hooking-up some Sony Micro-OLEDs and further more venturing elsewhere and trying fovested rendering of such, XR development and all sorts ;D www.wisecorp.co.uk

Raspberry Pi 4 Model B (4GB) is certainly well worth the extra £20! Although it runs much hotter than any previous RPi revision it's stable and consistant at those temperatures (e.g. the CPU is 60 degrees Celsius just sitting at the command prompt doing nothing, and higher while on X desktop). Thermal throttling does a remarkable job of stopping the device from crashing or failing through over-heating. The RPi 4 is quite a bit quicker than the RPi 3B+ - binary compile times are almost halfed in comparison. Get a new case because RPi 3 cases won't suit RPi 4. ;) Ordered Monday 24 June 2019 @ 09:00am and the RPi 4 was delivered 2 days later at 10:00am by Royal Mail. Oustanding service from thepihut.com and only £2.99 for the pleasure.

Been using mine since yesterday and it works brilliantly. Is now a replacement for my ageing AMD based tower system, it leaves this older box standing. Well done to the them they have done it again. Buy one and don't look back worth every penny, I have the 4GB one so it can multitask well.

Mine arrived overnight delivery on Tuesday. I thought that I had a micro-HDMI cable but it will arrive tomorrow. That didn't stop me as I enabled SSH for headless setup and loaded all of my common shell files utilities and fave programs. I attached a miniature 5V fan from PiHut and it drops the temp 15C when running sysbench and multiple instances of yes xyz. Boots very quickly. I almost forget that I run a Pi2 with Flightaware, a Pi3 with Flightradar24 and a PiZeroW as a cat-detector using an RCWL-0516 motion detector which emails me when my neighbour's cat sneaks in my window for a meal. They all run 24/7 and never fail. These little computers are the best thing that I have ever used since I built my first computer (binary counter) in 1965.

Drat! When I read it was Micro HDMI I assumed it was the same as the Pi Zero - so I didn't order a cable. But it's not, the Zero is Mini! So now I can't play with my new toy until I get an HDMI-to-HDMI Micro cable :-( Not sure if there's room next to the USB-C to put an HDMI adaptor in there instead of getting a cable. Must read more carefully next time... (Can only give it 3 stars as I haven't actually been able to use it yet)

I have a Pi3B+ and find it a great device. I have just unpacked the Pi4B with 2Gb ram - not powered it up yet but I have absolutely no reason to disbelieve all the reports I have read with respect to its advanced specs and performance. My personal likes: the new USBc universal power socket - no more faffing about getting it the right way round! Micro HDMI ports (two) make for much neater cabling - 4K performance YES! My monitor is 4K and so are two of my laptops. 4K of ram - YES again - these days memory capacity is essential - the more the merrier. It is almost impossible to believe such a physically small package can be a powerhouse and perform as a desktop when the appropriate peripherals are attached – I have a USB3 hub with several 1Tb HDDs & a 512Gb ssd available.
