The Raspberry Pi 4 Model B definitely runs faster than previous models but gets very hot when under load. I am considering getting a heatsink and fan to keep it cool.

As per the standard reviews, works well if a little hot, requires cooling.

...I've no idea what I'm going to use it for yet, but am enjoying tinkering. Have run some intense benchmarks on the Pi and whilst the CPU gets hot, it's not affected the performance of the little beastie.

Hi - I recommend the new Flirc case when buying the Pi 4. (I thought I would post this to help buyers.) When I first got the latest Pi I also bought the official Pi case. However, when I switched on my new Pi for the first time the first thing I noticed was a temperature warning icon flashing on and off when it was booting! My room was also getting noticeably hot when the Pi was switched on. However, I have just received the latest Flirc case and the “over temperature warning (80-85C)” icon has yet to appear! So the Flirc appears to be a very effective solution to the Pi operating at a very hot temperature.

the packaging of the Raspberry Pi 4 feels ...cheap. It is essentially a bare board in a flimsy tiny box without any antistatic sleeve nor any protection or cables at all. I didn't expect flashy packaging, but some basic protection should be given. It didn't feel that the board was protected at all. Luckily after connecting it worked. Interestingly, my 2K monitor was recognised at 4K resolution (!?). However, the mouse movement was very laggy. After switching it to its native resolution all started to work as speedy as expected. BTW, the processor gets noticeably warm even without any significant load. Hopefully this is not an indication of any troubles, but may require heatsink, which is not what I wanted to use. Time will tell. The initial minutes after booting it up to Linux were positive. More testing should follow to properly evaluate the product. However, for that money you can't get wrong with it.
