Turns out that all the other PI power supplies I have will not work. Turns out that despite a spag-bog’s worth of HDMI cables, I need to also buy a new one, or a converter. I guess I like the new USB-C style charge port. I guess I like the new HDMI connexion. I just wish I had been alerted to the fact that I needed them when I was purchasing this. There is a rumour of PoE, but apparently you need some additional dongle and it is not evident if it (Pi-4) supplies PoE or it can be powered via PoE. That would work for me as I have PoE power supplies floating about, plus PoE on some switches, but no idea if it is to power the PI or not. One would expect so, but where is this thing I need to buy? So no, every time I try to organise a purchase of the one new HDMI cable I need and the one new power supply (or PoE dongle thing) I can’t get past the order process as I need to buy >$50 for free delivery and I don’t have the time to suss out what might be useful to add to the order. So, just another Pi-brick lying about for now. At some point, I will find the time, but I am being pestered to submit this review.

Thank you for your excellent product and service. The pi 4 is working as advertised. I am busy programming 'C' and Python at present.

Product is amazing. Would love to see more future generations of the Pi with more ram and a bit more slimmer. opens doors for innovation,

Fast, great little unit. Powered by the terrific modern Type C USB, overclockable, plenty of USB ports wired and wireless networking available. So why 1 star? 2 words. "MICRO HDMI" the single worst interface of the last 10 years. NOBODY uses MicroHDMI because it is absolutely terrible and for every 1 minute I spend using this device I'm spending 5 wiggling and wobbling one of the two brand-new MicroHDMI cable's that I've bought (both different brands, both good quality). What on earth were they thinking?!

As the new owner of the above I must confess to being impressed by the look of the little computer but also very disappointed. Specifically one of the ports appears to be of a type I cannot use. Having purchased a micro USB 2, then a micro USB 3 cable, I found neither would fit. While the latest technology should belong in what is thought of as a compact little machine, the hardware should at the same time have sufficient information for the user. I have to date found no instructions telling me what type this port is, consequently I can't use the computer. Very frustrating.....

If you were to look inside some new 'high performance' laptops you would find a board of a similar size. For a very small outlay you'll have a complete computer that has the added bonus of dual HDMI outputs along with all the GPIO pins you are likely to need for your projects. 4 USB ports and ethernet connectivity make this a no brainer purchase. I went for the 4GB version in order to ensure that I have all the memory I am likely to need. I can highly recommend the Pi 4b+. It would be a good idea to get a GOOD case for it but then there's nothing stopping you from being a bit creative and making your own, if, of course you are into it.
