“I suspect they could fit 4 USB C instead of two USB 2 ports, thus they would have space for two full size HDMI (when removed present USB C power in port) but I guess it all came down to the price.”

“I wanted a spare pi to back up as my onboard computer used for navigation across seas; a hostile environment for pis! I thought I would upgrade too. The extras (new card, new leads for video and power, new power supply) added up to twice the cost of the pi. And the one benefit I was expecting - faster movement of chart displays - didn't happen. So make sure you need one before buying.”

“I bought the 4Gb version on it's own. I figured I could find a suitable power supply and make my own NOOBS card. I could get the Pi to boot but had no control, i.e. mouse and keyboard dead! Therefore I couldn't select the OS on the first screen. Since then I have bought an official power supply and an official NOOBS card in the hope that they might rectify the issue. Sadly not. I've looked on various forums but found nothing of use. Most threads suggest checking various things by typing stuff... very hard to do without a keyboard! I have concluded that the USB ports on my Pi are dead. Various different keyboards and mice make no difference. Now if I could just find my purchase receipt I would return it. For the money I suspect the Pi 4 is an excellent machine but I'll have to wait a little longer to find out.”
