The product itself is versatile and simple, the ordering process was easy, and the delivery was prompt. The only issues I have with the Pi itself is that it seems prone to overheat a lot more than the Pi 2, and I was kind of hoping for Gigabit Ethernet and USB 3 by this generation. Still a decent bit of kit, and a godsend to anyone wanting to experiment with Linux. I get why Microsoft wanted to get a version of Windows on it - it's like a perfect gateway drug that Linux pushers can use to hook kids early.

I bought the Raspberry Pi 3 having already previously purchased the original Pi several years ago and more recently a model b+. Specifically I wanted to see if it could handle itself now as a sort of mini desktop and I have not been disappointed. With the gradual upgrades for the same price that have been made, the Pi really performs! The B+ continues its role as a media streaming / Openelec device converting our old tube TV into a smart tube TV.

Only use it for openElec, upgraded from Pi1 B model, noticed the difference straight away. Just wish they would sort out the USB/ethernet share thing, maybe the next model.

All working as expected. About 10 times as powerful as Pi 1. What's not to like?

Really nice product. A lot more powerful than the earlier RPI's and very well worth the money. Raspbian Jessie works first go and so does Ubuntu and Openelec. Would advise purchase of case at same time and avoid extra postage - something I forgot Arrived very quickly too

Works really well just like all of the Pi's before it. It really does feel much quicker than the previous versions. I'd recommend one of these.

The PI-3B is a great platform for all kinds of things. I had no trouble setting it up and getting wifi etc working. I prefer to use it “headless” and just SSH into the device, so I can’t comment on the desktop. It is a good development and learning platform, but it;s not suitable for embedding into production designs.

In built Wifi & Blutooth free up 2 Usb ports, also no more dongle sticking out the side. Processor gives a lot smoother performance even straight from the desktop, and programs run quicker and smoother all round. I am a big retro gaming fan & have found the PI3 to be even better than its predecessor at emulation some of the more difficult gaming systems. Although I am not knocking the PI2 , switching back to it for similar uses definitely feels a bit gloppier Very fast delivery backed up by the usual premium support from PiHut & the forums Can't wait to see what they come up with for PI4!!
