“The Raspberry Pi 3 is the same size as the Pi 2 so if you have a case for the Pi 2 the Pi 3 will pop straight in. The similarities stop at the appearance, with the Pi 3 having built in wifi and a faster processor. The Pi 3 boots up a lots faster than any other Pi and I think I'm right in saying it is a 64 bit processor running at 32 bits so the option is there for developers to build a 64 bit OS, There is 1 other important point, it needs the latest version of Raspbian Jessie so this means you can't just pull your memory card out of the Pi 2 and put it in the Pi 3 because it will not boot up. With the Pi 3 at the same price as a Pi 2 it is great value for money and we'll worth buying.”

“Noticeable improvement in performance. Having built in wifi and Bluetooth is also very useful. Make sure you have the right power supply for the pi, it does draw more power. Also, using ssh to connect to the pi works well, but the standard timeout for the connection is not very long. This is a software setting rather than a hardware one.”

“The extra speed and addition of Bluetooth and wifi create a product that will be more interesting to youngsters. Enthusiasts come from all age groups so hopefully this 'upgrade' will encourage others to have a slice ok Raspberry Pi.”
