I wanted the camera to try time lapse photography. Installation of the camera was easy - plenty of good guides available (I kinda like Geek Gurl). Although I have never programmed in Python before I did what I wanted quite quickly (thanks to http://www.raspberrypi.org/learning/python-picamera-setup/). I ran into problems with Unix trying to get the program to run automatically (got it to work but not at all elegant) and have just looked at my first series of photos, this morning's sunrise taken from an upstairs room between 4.00 and 6.00 this morning. Looking forward to further experiments and am already thinking of a portable battery pack and maybe plugging the pi into a cannibalised remote cable on my Canon EOS350D but that is for later. The potential unleashed is well worth the effort. Really satisfied with the camera.

I received ALL the products a few days after my order (in Belgium), faster than the possible delay announced on the site. An excellent site.

I have been an amateur photographer since I was a child. When I saw there was a camera module to go with the Raspberry Pi (which I had already bought) I decided I had to have one. I have definitely not been disappointed. It arrived quickly, well packaged and I had it up an running in a short time. I have since added a motion detector and got them both working together. The camera produces very good images, especially when you consider how small it is and the applications that go with it are simple but effective. A worthy addition to the Raspberry Pi, highly recommended. Now I need to pakage the whOle lot in a waterproof container so I can strap it to a tree and snap some wildlife.

The camera module for Raspberry PI it's a great add-on for this little computer. Plugged in and powered on, software update from the command line and images appeared on screen. The camera interfaces directly with the GPU so image previews and video recording canbe seen even from the terminal interface. When running under X don't expect to be able to drag the preview panel around, it's not a window. Great image quality and video recording directly into x264 is a bonus.
