Spread heat from CPU to the whole case, and the case looks really fancy.

I got two FLIRC cases for my new Pi 4s They are well made and run very nicely. I also bought a case for one of my Pi 3s and likewise it's well made and runs very nicely

I recently got the PI 4 to go alongside my earlier PI 3 B+ purchase which I have set up as a retro gaming gaming PC. These devices are absolutely fantastic, my kid loves the gaming PC and will no doubt love the PI 4 media PC I am going to set up. So far I have just been tinkering with it but it is a great product and the aluminium case looks absolutely spot on, will look great next to the TV. Order and delivery was easy as PI with delivery coming via DHL who get in touch prior to delivery which was just as well as I needed to redirect mine to a pickup point. Cant reccomend the product and the store enough and will be using them again in the future.

As with all previous Flirc cases, this for the Pi 4 is made to a high standard. Rubber upper and lower the main body is one piece aluminium. Also acting as a large passive heat sink the case does get warm / hot. The processor gets to about 62deg under heavy load but nowhere near the 80deg threshold for CPU throttling. Access to all ports and indications is excellent with the obvious exception of the GPO - this can be accessed via a separate ribbon cable. All in the best Pi case on the market.

I've always wanted one of these cases and after reading about the temperature issues after buying my Raspberry Pi 4 I decided to get one. Apart from looking good I can feel how warm the case gets so in my mind I feel it is doing its job. On top of that I did do some before and after temperature tests and it does make a big difference when the Pi is in the case.

Manage your expectations and you will be totally satisfied. I got the metal Flirc case which keeps temps under 55 degrees and no cpu throttling. This handles multiple browser tabs open at once with acceptable load speed. Granted 1080p YouTube full screen is not 100% satisfactory but it’s 90% there. In a smaller window no problem. I’ve learnt Linux system, commands and infrastructure and enjoying it so much I’m considering a new diy pc build with Linux Mint or similar as my main desktop PC. In that case will reuse the RPI4 as a retro gamer for kids (and me). Buy without hesitation.

I use my Pi 4 remotely almost all the time so it must have decent WiFi reception. With no case I get great WiFi but it runs far too hot. With this case the entire Pi runs quite hot (the whole case heats up to 40C+!) and I get no WiFi reception at all. Really disappointed with it and am 3D printing myself a better case as I write this.

Good case. Before PI 4 was running about 63 C degrees now it's cooling down to 48 C degrees. Looks very nice improvement to me. The case itself does get quite hot.
