I'm sure its a good kit but I can't test it because the battery box is faulty. 4 new AA batteries dangerously overheat when box is switched on. Pi Hut wantg me to return entire kit at my own expense. Why can they just send a replacement battery box?

Used with teens to teach programming and robotics, just perfect for the price.

This is a brilliant introduction to robotics for anyone who is a bit unsure of what parts they need and what exactly they should do with them. The instructions are clear and concise, and using the box itself as a chassis I had a prototype up and running in no time at all. I always felt that I was not only being told what to do, but more importantly why I was doing it! If I should make one small criticism it would be this - Worksheet 8 mentions upgrading the line detection system by adding more sensors. What might be useful here would be a link to compatible devices (or at least their specifications), as well as tips and hints as to any additional hardware needed for such an upgrade - i.e. could extra sensors be added to the controller that comes with the kit, or would that needed to be upgraded too? I'm interested in upgrading my robot, but at the same time don't want to blow it up by adding the wrong components or connecting them up wrong!
