I admit I wasn't sure in the beginning if it will suit my needs since I wanted to make my raspberry Pi a NAS. But the hardrive are getting the whole power without problem and the raspberry detect everything without the annoyance of backpower as some other hub does. A best buy !

I don't know what you can really expect out of a USB hub, but it does the job well. I like the form factor of it. I was able to set the Raspberry Pi behind my media center and just leave the hub exposed with an IR and WiFi receiver plugged in. It was a great solution for me.

Great product for my Raspberry Pi. It can power the Pi as well as offer the extra USB ports. Nice to know it's been designed specifically for the Pi too :-)

Using this to connect and power the Pi and a bus-powered hdd. Single psu keeps it neat. Running samba server and minidlna with no issues at all. Haven't plugged a ton of other stuff in, other than a keyboard and mouse while I got tightvnc set up, so can't say how it fares with a higher draw.

Some powered hubs will not work with the Raspberry Pi because the power from the RPi and the power from the hub conflict with each other, it can cause all sorts of problems and damage either bit of kit. There is a list somewhere of which ones are compatible but I got tired of flicking from page to page trying to compare the list with what was available when I found this. Its designed specifically for the RPi so it works. No fussing about wondering if Bloggs' Hub 3.1a works when only Bloggs' Hub 3.1 in on this list. As for how good it is, how it performs. Well it does what the spec says it does, not really anything I can add to that.
