I use my Raspberry Pi for two purposes: A XBMC media center and a RetroPie retrogaming station. This USB hub works flawlessly for both these uses, the 2 USB ports in the back are used for an external HD and an IR receiver, while the 5 front USB ports are used for gamepads, keyboard and mouse. One thing to note, I bought the EU version and the cables are a bit shorter than I expected, roughly 1 meter for the power cable and 50cm for the hub-to-Pi cable. This is perfect for me as it avoids cable clutter, but if you need more length you may want to consider extension cords or longer cables.

Needed a usb hub and a WiFi dongle for my recently acquired RasPi, both supplied promptly by the PiHut and working well. Thanks

This USB hub is perfect for me: - 5 USB ports on the front for gamepads + keyboard when I use my Pi with RetroPie - 2 USB ports on the back for my external HD and the IR receiver for XBMC use. You just plug it and no fuss, works great! A little note on cable length though: the EU power adapter cable only has ~1m length and the cable to connect it to the Pi is only ~50cm. This is fine for me, but if you need more length you may need an extension cord or another Firewire-to-USB cable :)
